Why We Made It

We spend years designing kitchens, sofas, lamps, and interiors for adults. Yet children often grow up surrounded by hard surfaces, screens, loud toys, and overstimulating environments that modern homes were never acoustically designed to handle.

At Arturel, we believe sound affects more than we think - focus, sleep, stress levels, creativity, emotional balance, and the nervous system itself.

The Silent Playhouse™ was created from a simple idea: children deserve calm too.

Kids are naturally full of energy, movement, laughter, and sound. We don’t believe that should be silenced. Not because children are “too loud,” but because they are curious, expressive, imaginative, and alive.

The real problem is that most homes were never designed for the sound of family life.

So instead of asking children to be quieter, we wanted to create a space that handles sound differently. A small room within the room - designed for imagination, creativity, roleplay, reading, and quiet moments of calm.

Crafted from the same acoustic material used throughout Arturel’s sculptural interior universe, The Silent Playhouse™ helps soften sound and reduce harsh reverberation while creating a gentler atmosphere for both children and adults.

Because sometimes the best spaces are the ones that make room for both play and peace.
CE certification

The Silent Playhouse has successfully passed independent EU toy safety testing and can officially carry the CE mark.
Tested by Eurofins according to the European Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC), the playhouse passed:
• EN 71-2 - Flammability
• EN 71-3 - Migration of certain elements (chemical safety / heavy metals)
The tests specifically included requirements for toys intended to be entered by a child.
All tested variants passed.
No harmful levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium VI or other restricted substances were detected.

All of our Arturel products are made from recycled and upcycled materials. The material is shredded into small fibers and transformed into felt, from which we create our acoustic artworks, sculptures and other products.
