Installation

The artworks are mounted with corner brackets at the back of the frame, making the installation process similar to that of a regular frame with nails/screws in the wall, on which the artwork is hung.

Made from upcycled uniforms, 70% wool/uniform and 30% thermoplastic binder. Please note that since the materials are recycled, minor colour variations may occur. In the dark blue panels you will find red bits from the stitchings and real silver from the shoulder marks.

The upcycled uniforms

Our Hats & Pants series are made from recycled uniforms from the Danish Royal Guards. Together with Kvadrat Really & The artist duo Hvass & Hannibal - we have transformed the uniforms into acoustic art pieces.

Better acoustic with upcycled fabrics

Working with Kvadrat has allowed us to design a product that not only utilises upcycled materials but also provides better sound and beautiful acoustic art to homes and work spaces

Kvadrat Really’s Textile Felt has been tested for a sound reduction efficient (NRC) of 0.75 on average. Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) score is a diagram that is known around the world for noise frequency reduction which is measured in Hz.* Our Arturel x Kvadrat artworks have an average of 0.75 NRC (where 1.00 NRC is total sound reduction).

Recycling as a Philosophy
