Usage and care

Before use:
Before placing your rug, thoroughly vacuum the carpet without using the brush to remove loose fibers or any press marks caused during transportation. This is especially common with bamboo rugs. The press marks will gradually disappear over time. Important: Never use a brush to remove press marks, as this can damage the carpet.

Care instructions:
Daily Cleaning: Vacuum your carpet regularly, especially when it’s new, as shedding is normal. Always vacuum in the direction of the pile and avoid using the brush attachment. Do not use robotic cleaners on the rug, as their brushes can pull at the fibers and cause the cleaner to repeatedly go over the same spot, thinking it is still dirty.
Stains: For spills, act quickly. Gently blot the area with a clean, white cotton cloth to prevent the stain from setting. Lightly sprinkle water if necessary, then blot again with a white cloth. If the stain persists, have the rug cleaned professionally.
Never use chemicals for cleaning!
General Care: To prevent uneven wear, rotate the rug twice a year. Consider placing plastic
protectors under heavy furniture to reduce pressure marks. Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may cause fading, so try to keep the rug out of direct sunlight.
If placing the rug on delicate surfaces, use an underlay to prevent staining from the carpet’s underside. As this is a handmade product, please allow for a size variation of ±3%

Functional art

By merging art with the functions of the acoustic properties hidden in the material, we aim to push the boundaries for how you can impact your space even further – across beauty, form, and function while enhancing overall well-being.

A vibrant new collection

Arturel x Anne Nowak - The Hazy Collection merges Anne Nowak's iconic, colorful art with our acoustically absorbing materials made from recycled textiles. The result is a unique collection where aesthetics, functionality, and craftsmanship come together.

The Hazy Collection

The Hazy Collection is characterized by soft transitions, where the colors hover between the concrete and the abstract – a reflection of natural light and its ever-changing nature. The artworks create a harmonious atmosphere, serving both as a decorative element and a functional solution in the interior.

The skilled artist Anne Nowak, who hand-colored all the pieces in the collection, is deeply inspired by her origin and childhood on the smaller island Bornholm, where the Nordic landscapes and shifting light have had a significant influence on her work. Her art conveys the unique beauty that emerges when nature meets the abstract, bringing a special warmth and depth to any space.

Our acoustic artworks from the Kvadrat Really series is made of high-quality circular materials from textile waste, which is made from 70% post-production ‘waste’ textile and 30% thermoplastic binder.

The Hazy collection is available in several colors. Throughout the process, Anne Nowak has worked with various techniques and color combinations to achieve the perfect design.

This collection with Anne Nowak was created in her studio in Copenhagen, where many of her works have come to life. The inspiration comes, among other things, from her heritage in Bornholm, where nature, the sea, and the light have shaped her artistic journey.

"The main thing in my work is that I have to have fun. Because every time I have fun, I create something that lives within me. I often find myself drawn to new materials, and while learning to work with them takes time, it also takes devotion and patience and I truly love that proces."

Recycling as a Philosophy

Our original Arturel artworks are made from recycled materials and ocean bound plastic. The material is then transformed into felt, from which we create our acoustic artworks.
